Let’s be frank here, even if it makes us sound like a seaside postcard. When you’re looking for a tote bag you can fit groceries or baby paraphernalia or a serious amount of books into, well, what you need is gusset. Here, you get a whole 10cm of gusset. Which is a good gusset amount. (Oh god, we can’t stop saying it now.)

These are strong tote bags made of a light-weight, hand-loomed jute with short handles of natural jute. They are a great everyday bag when everyday involves a fair amount of stuff. We have three colourways available, so take your pick. (One final time? Gusset.)

The other winners are the women in Bangladesh who make them, using traditional craft skills to create these very contemporary products. All of Maison Bengal’s products are produced in conjunction with three fair trade organisations, using locally grown materials.
