Wooden butter knife

£9.00

Wooden butter knives are popular in Scandinavia, but this one originates in Britain. The knife is hand carved, using either elm or ash, and finished with linseed oil.

It will sink softly into a pat of butter and brings a touch of simple style to your weekend breakfast tray. The knife comes in two colours, the lighter ash wood and the darker elm wood.

The woodworkers at Camphill Village Trust specialise in thoughtful simplicity. They are a national charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism. They also support several of their service users “to discover the unique skills and talents everyone has” and then to start creating, making and learning.

The items produced are utilitarian, but have that pleasing ‘just right’ look. The homeware equivalent of the perfect white t-shirt.
