Ngimi paper pulp vase with handles

£15.00

Strong design combined with a lightness of touch, that’s what we think of when we consider Quazi’s products. These vases are from a brand new range and we’re happy to be stocking them. The workshop in Mbabane, Eswatini is run entirely by women - all working together to produce incredible homewares and jewellery, often from recycled materials.

These vases are a brilliant example of how Quazi reuse and remake. They have a partnership with a local media distributor and pulp unsold copies to use in their work. Made from newspaper pulp, dried in the sun, these are perfect as they are - or if you must put something in them, make it something pretty.

(We need to point out that any kind of liquid will be a bit of a disaster for your lovely vase. However, Quazi suggest putting a glass container inside if you want to display fresh flowers and the like.)

We love how Quazi’s homewares look like something you would find in an art gallery, with their almost-irregular shapes and bright simplicity. It’s also appealing to know you can bring that same gallery vibe to your house without having to spend several thousand pounds along the way.

Also important: the work and the training they provide for women in Eswatini, who are able to work in safe and fair conditions and help themselves and their families.

Handmade paper pulp vase dyed with pigment, painted inside and varnished with an eco varnish. Please wipe with damp cloth to clean. Not safe for food.
