These black peppercorns are from The Smoke Folk, a Somerset-based smokery and a social enterprise.

The peppercorns are smoked over oak wood, a process which really pushes up the pepper flavour as well as adding a veil of smoked flavour. You will never see black pepper as basic again.

We love these peppercorns. We think they are a perfect example of a basic ingredient being elevated into the sublime. 

The Smoke Folk are leaders in several fields. They find innovative ways of smoking food and, simultaneously, provide jobs and training for people facing barriers to employment. All of their ingredients and all of the fuels used in their smoking processes are sustainably sourced.
