Chilli onion relish

Sticky. Sweet. Just a hint of heat. Makers Rubies In The Rubble recommend adding this to burgers, but we recommend adding it to pretty much anything (obviously, we’re exaggerating, but you get the point)

The relish is made from caramelised Rosanna pink onions - which have a strangely high rate of wastage as oversized and blemished ones are instantly rejected by retailers. This does, however, made them perfect for Rubies In The Rubble who specialise in saving fruit and veg from being binned.

The whole range from Rubies in The Rubble tastes amazing, but we’ve chosen to focus on the products you could give as a gift, rather than adding them to your supermarket shop. This relish is exceptional stuff. 

We also fully support the Rubies model of finding ingenious and delicious uses for fresh food that - for whatever trivial reason - won’t make it to the shops. 

Ingredients: onions (77%); soft brown sugar; sugar; red wine vinegar; balsamic vinegar; chilli; salt.
