Soapstone tray
This Small Tray for Things is particularly lovely. It’s made of soapstone, a local material in Kenya where a branch of the Amsha women’s collective are based.
They reach us via Qäsa Qäsa who partner with organisations across Africa to support craft businesses, allowing workers to make a sustainable living and to ensure traditional techniques are not lost.
As soapstone is a natural material, each piece is unique and there will be slight variations in the colours.
Qäsa Qäsa work with artisans and craftspeople all over East Africa to produce homewares that are as well made as they are beautiful. The designs favoured by founders Aniqa and Naeema are bold, simple and exquisite to look at.
We love the natural variety present in the soapstone which, along with the craft skills of the women who make them, elevates the unfussy design to brilliant heights.

Care: Clean with a soft damp cloth. If needed, hand wash with a little soap and water and dry immediately. Do not leave soaking in liquids. Not dishwasher safe.
