Recycled fire hose messenger bag

It’s a luxury bag made from a fire hose. Obviously. Of course it is. The hose will have seen up to 30 years of active duty fighting fires around the UK.

Founder Kresse (her partner James is nicknamed Elvis), was horrified when the London Fire Brigade showed her the amount of disused hoses going into landfill. The two of them experimented with ways of reusing them and their business was born. We like this messenger bag because it wears its origins with pride, but is also a quality piece of craftsmanship. It has a reclaimed Burberry black cotton and military-grade parachute silk lining. The full length flap is secured with hidden magnet closures. It has an internal zip pocket, a laptop divider and 1 full length zipped pocket under the flap.

It’s a novel idea that doesn’t look in the slightest bit gimmicky. You know what we mean - bags from firehoses could easily be something that would demonstrate your commitment to upcycling, but not much else. This bag, however, stands along anything you would buy in a small boutique or a large department store. 

Elvis and Kresse also donate 50 per cent of their profits to charity. They contribute to a wide range of initiatives, but anything earned from the fire hose range goes, appropriately, to The Fire Fighters Charity.
