Small bowl
We love these bowls, in a soft blue and a natural white. Their small size makes them ideal for nuts, dips or a communal pot of sea salt in the middle of the dinner table.
Every item is made by hand, in small batches by residents of one of the Camphill Village Trust’s communities and could well have the maker’s initials on the bottom. The charity means adults with learning difficulties and autism can live independent lives within a caring village setting.
As with all handmade ceramics there may be some variations: the exact shade of the glaze and the exact shape of the bowl may differ slightly from the picture.
The makers at Camphill Village Trust specialise in thoughtful simplicity. They are a national charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism. They also support several of their service users “to discover the unique skills and talents everyone has” and then to start creating, making and learning.
The items produced are utilitarian, but have that pleasing ‘just right’ look. The homeware equivalent of the perfect white t-shirt.
Clay and glaze. Can go through the dishwasher, but hand washing is recommended. Measures 11cm in diameter.
