Because these two items make a fantastic treat for you or someone else. Our Power is the name of this South African Shiraz-Zifandel wine, made by the Black-owned, female-owned Amandla winery. It’s a rich, juicy wine, with notes of plum, spice and blackberry.

Accompanying it is the equally gorgeous package of dark broken chocolate with whole sour cherries from The Chocolate Detective. The flavours here are lush and complex without any hint of bitterness.

Red wine and dark chocolate are made for one another. We also put a lot of thought into picking the right products for our collection of gift boxes, trying to strike the balance between good value for you and a luxurious treat for your gift recipient. 

We also love that that every item, in every box, is made by a company who are dedicated to changing the world for the better. 

The Amandla Winery is is entirely owned and run by black women. Although that’s sadly still a rarity, the women behind Amandla have created a showcase for their own expertise and knowledge. They also run a bursary scheme for the families of grape-farm workers, helping to finance education at all levels. 

The Chocolate Detective is the nom-du-chocolat of Chantal Cody. She’s an expert in her craft, but is also trying to make changes in the often-unethical chocolate industry. Chantal is committed to a transparent supply chain, choosing only ethical growers. She’s also committed to the beans she uses being processed in cocoa-growing countries, meaning more money stays in the economies of developing nations.
