Medjoul Dates
We don’t like to play favourites, but if dates had a crown, these would be wearing it. Medjoul dates from the Jericho region are known as the King of Dates, and for good reason: big, plump, and intensely caramel sweet.
These are dates to eat slowly with coffee, after supper or straight from the box when no one’s looking. Naturally high in fibre and potassium, they’re as wholesome as they are indulgent, equally at home on a cheeseboard or folded into desserts and stews.
Awarded a Great Taste Award in 2018 and sourced directly from farms in Palestine. Get them because they’re exceptional. The fact that they support Palestinian producers is reason enough to feel good about it.
Zaytoun is an ethical business established to support marginalised farming communities in Palestine. As a non-profit company their primary objectives lie with the welfare of the producing communities. They invest in empowering farming communities and developing the agricultural infrastructure in Palestine. All of Zaytoun's oil is extra virgin, first cold pressed, organically grown and fairly traded. Zaytoun's suppliers source the oil from cooperatives in the areas of Salfit, Tulkarem, Nablus, Jenin and the Galilee.
