This is honey as it should be - no blends, no processing. Every honey produced by Bermondsey Street Bees is raw and single-source, which means the honey comes from bees gathering pollen in one geographical area which creates a unique flavour profile.
Dale Gibson and Sarah Wyndham Lewis founded the organisation in 2007. Now they have hives in several sites, inside and outside of London. Would you prefer your honey from near the docks at Custom House or from Exmoor wildflowers?
They place bee welfare first and have worked with businesses, governments and charities to produce templates for the kind of urban bee keeping that has a positive effect and won’t harm existing wild pollinators.
Why they are different:
There’s a reason London’s chefs - including those from five-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants - seek out their honey: it tastes incredible. And if you’re looking for even more confirmation, there’s the whopping 36 awards they’ve won to date.
Why they are kind:
Honeybees are essential to the UK’s domestic food production. British fruit and vegetables and our meat and dairy industries all depend on bee pollination. Dale and Sarah are committed to the bee cause: they contribute to global research, train new bee keepers and contribute a portion of their profits to bee charities.
