Black Lines
The bottled cocktail company who are helping to feed people in need
- Location London
- Working on Food for the vulnerable; thoughtful business
Black Lines make bottled cocktails. They make very good bottled cocktails, carefully calibrated to taste as good poured out at home as they would from the hand of a skilled mixologist. The company is named after a painting by Wassily Kandinsky, his first abstract piece - often thought of as a new era in art. For cocktail makers Black Lines, it’s a reminder to do things differently.
The company is employee-owned, meaning both the cash and the decision making stay with the team and decision making is based on thinking about what effect the business has and not just the bottom line.
Their drinks have been hugely popular. They’ve been able to launch their own bar, Little Lines, and - on a much, much bigger scale - they now serve cocktails at Wembley Stadium. During Taylor Swift’s Era’s tour, they served over 255,000 Swifties from 26 different bars.
Why they are different:
The quality of their ingredients is top notch and the Black Lines team value discovering small producers who are great at what they do. Like Chase, who know exactly which fields the potatoes for their vodka have come from, or Kanpai, the UK’s first sake distillery.
Why they are kind:
Their Oatnog, a DK favourite, is not jus a vegan alternative to eggnog. For every bottle sold, Black Lines help service providers give three meals to hungry and vulnerable people in London.
