Honey & Co
- Location London
- Working on Mental health; working conditions
You might know Honey & Co. for the restaurants, cafes and delis scattered throughout London. You might know them for their four wonderful cookbooks. Maybe you know founders Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich for their column in the FT Weekend Magazine? Well, now you can know their wonderful Middle Eastern flavours via Different Kind too.
When they started working with us, Sarit and Itamar were keen to give something back to their community of chefs, cooks, bakers and other restaurant staff. So for every one of their items sold via Different Kind, Honey & Co. will make a donation to Burnt Chef, a charity that helps hospitality workers with their mental health.
The first restaurant opened in 2012. Now they are an established part of London’s food scene and part of the wave of 2010s chefs and writers who helped popularise Middle Eastern food in Britain. If you’re pleased to find baba ganoush in your supermarket, thank trail blazers like these.
Why they are different:
Sarit and Itamar have serious food-world pedigrees. Between them they have worked at the Oxo Tower, NOPI and in various Ottolenghi restaurants. You want to eat what they have made.
Why they are kind:
We’re proud of our partnership with Honey & Co - they are a fantastic organisation, but not set up as a charity or social enterprise as many of our producers are. We think it proves that independent businesses all have something to offer and can get on board with our dream of a better way of doing business.
