Scrubbing Brush

£15.00

Thoughtful design for the work that needs doing.

This S-shaped scrubbing brush is carved from smooth beech wood and finished with a hard-working blend of natural fibres. The curved shape fits neatly into your hand, giving you comfort, control and just the right amount of pressure for heavier cleaning indoors or out.

Each brush is handmade by skilled craftspeople with visual impairments, continuing a tradition that began in Stockholm in the late 19th century. What started as a small brush workshop has grown into a quietly influential movement, built on respect for traditional skills and the belief that everyday objects deserve care, beauty and purpose.

All of the Iris Hantverk objects feel good in the hand. They are solid where they need to be and soft where they need to be. They are also exceptionally well-made. We think their simple designs bring a sense of quiet joy and satisfaction to every day tasks.

Brush making by visually impaired people has a long tradition across northern Europe, so while Iris Hantverk provides practical, modern jobs it’s also preserving a piece of history that’s valued by everyone involved.
