The profits from the sale of items go directly to the women who made them, helping with things such as legal fees, language lessons and computer training. There are 42 refugee women currently employed by the project.
The organisation was set up in 2017, in response to the refugee crisis. The items sold by Love Welcomes are made from the life vests and blankets refugees arrived in Europe with.
“We help women stitch their lives back together,” they say.
