Colourful wreath

£35.00
We’ve been charmed by Silaiwali’s excellent range of dolls for some time. And when we saw these fabric wreaths we were charmed all over again. Every single wreath is unique, but they all share the same bright colours and pleasing shape. They work as a reusable Christmas decoration, but the cheerful colour scheme means they can also come out for Easter. Or Diwali. Or birthdays. Or welcome homes. You get the picture - does it make you want to get the wreath?

Every wreath is handmade, from fabric that would otherwise go to waste, by women who have fled from Afghanistan to India. The work allows them to earn a living and form a new community.

New Delhi-based Silaiwali don’t just create employment for refugee women, they also use up fabric waste from India’s textile industry as each Silaiwali piece is made out of scraps that would otherwise have gone to landfill. The reusable nature of all of their products means their commitment to waste reduction endures even after the items have left their studio.
