Made with single estate cacao from El Rosario farm on Colombia’s north-eastern coast it blends rich, nutty cocoa notes with a hit of wild mint and a refreshing, dried-fruit finish. At 50% cacao, it’s smooth and balanced - not too bitter, not too sweet. Just right.
More chocolate makers are looking at their supply chains and turning their attention to slavery, but UP-UP have gone several extra miles. They deal directly with one plantation and one processor, cutting out many middle layers and making it easier to guarantee that each workplace is slave-free. They also get an independent body, the NGO slavefreetrade, to visit and talk to workers.
So, yes, they make glorious chocolate, but we’re also pleased we can amplify their message and help them advocate for change.
