Jute Poresh bag

£25.00

This is the casual summer bag you will pull out year after year. And every time you’ll be reminded of all the places you took it to the summers before.

It’s made by hand from woven jute poresh, in a mix of natural fibre, natural indigo and with a central orange stripe. It’s unlined, with no pockets - the easiest and simplest design you could think of.

As every bag is handmade, there will be slight variations, meaning your bag will be a one-off. This is truly a bag for life - one you will want to keep and to cherish.

When a bag sells itself as being “able to withstand rough treatment” you know you’re on to a winner. When it’s a classic design that will never date, you’ve won again.

The other winners are the women in Bangladesh who make them, using traditional craft skills to create these very contemporary products. All of Maison Bengal’s products are produced in conjunction with three fair trade organisations, using locally grown materials. They provide steady work, helping to lift women and their families out of poverty.
