Femme organic dark milk chocolate bar
The Femme bar from Ocelot Chocolate looks like a work of art, but the best bit is when you unwrap it.
It’s a dark milk chocolate made from rare Amelonado cocoa beans grown by a pioneering women’s cooperative in Eastern Congo - they are the world’s first all-female cocoa co-op.
All the ingredients are organic and it is made, designed and packaged in a very small factory in Edinburgh.
We’ve noticed that a lot of chocolate producers, these days, make claims about how ethical their products are. And, whilst we love to see people starting to move in the right direction, we always want to make sure we get the best of the best in terms of taste and ethics.
We know that, in Ocelot, we’ve found that. The care and attention lavished on their products is incredible and their values are ones we wholeheartedly support.
Cocoa is sourced from Original Beans, based in Amsterdam, who ensure that the cocoa farmers are given the fair trade and resources that enable them to focus on producing healthy, high quality cocoa and that they are able to not only look after their own families, but also protect the environment and communities around them.
This is an occasion where eating more chocolate is definitely a good thing.
