String Turtle bag

£8.00

We love the juicy bright colours of Turtle bags. We love that they scrunch up easily into pockets, so you never have to be without one. And we love how hardwearing they are.

Truly multi-purpose, the only choice you have to make is which shade you’d like your strings to be strung in.

The company have been around since 2001, when plastic bags were still flapping around every supermarket. By keeping their style simple and their ethics constant, Turtle have endured for two decades and long may they continue.

They are also pretty much our dream bag for visiting markets and filling with bread and heads of lettuce and pound-a-bowl tomatoes.

Production of fabric: no chemical pesticides or fertilisers.

Growing: farmers work under safe conditions with an agreed minimum wage. Turtle Bags have worked with the same farmers for 20 years in Dahr India, on small family farms using traditional organic methods. They work together as a collective receiving a premium price for their cotton crop is then sent to a local factory and turned into thread, dyed and knitted. The straps are put on by hand.

Materials: the organic cotton is certified under the Global Oganic Textile Standard (GOTS).

Care instructions: cool machine wash
