Dark Chocolate Almonds
Simple ingredients. Serious craft.
These slightly salted Italian almonds are coated in smooth, dark chocolate by a small but mighty team of chocolate makers in Falmouth. The cacao beans are grown beneath the canopy of Sierra Leone’s Gola Rainforest National Park, then transformed in-house as they're roasted, cracked, winnowed, ground, refined and conched before being patiently aged into deep, flavourful chocolate.
The magic happens in a giant copper panner. As the almonds tumble, warm chocolate coats them layer by layer, the nuts polishing against one another as it sets into a perfectly even shell. They’re finished with a light dusting of the maker’s own pressed cocoa powder, nothing more, nothing less.
The result is richly chocolatey, gently bitter-sweet with a satisfying crunch and just enough salt to keep you reaching back in.
A brilliant alternative to a bottle of wine. Ideal for sharing and impressive at the table, just try not to eat them all at once (or do!)
All of Chocolarder’s products are exceptional. They smell good. They feel staisfying in the hand. They taste sensational. But we also really admire their way of working. All of their ingredients come from slavery-free sources and are often bought from plantations and farms who involve local communities, rather than exploiting them. Their products don’t contain palm oil. Chocolarder’s packaging is also plastic free. And they are a business who create year-round jobs in Cornwall, an area of the UK that is very reliant on seasonal work.
