biscotti

£5.25

Even if it’s Britain and the weather app is usually showing there’s a 40% chance of rain, we still get the urge to sit outside with an espresso and a tiny, sweet treat and pretend to be in a Sophia Loren film. We can’t physically take you to Italy, but these gorgeous, crisp biscotti flavoured with hazelnut, cardamon and orange can help you get there in spirit.

They’re made by Step and Stone, a Bristol-based bakery who work with young adults who have learning disabilities.

We’re impressed by Step and Stone on a few levels. We love how good their products taste - and the fact that they take great care to source ingredients that are both local to them and of a very high quality - including organic flour from Gloucestershire and cold-pressed rapeseed oil from Somerset.

We also love the well-founded confidence they have in all of the young people they work with. Step and Stone know that good training in a supportive environment gives people with learning disabilities the opportunity to really flourish.

Weight: 140g

Ingredients: wheat flour, caster sugar, hazelnuts, eggs, orange extract (ethanol, oil of orange, water), baking powder (raising agents, disodium diphosphate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, rice flower) sea salt, cardamon.

The biscotti is made in a kitchen that handles sesame seeds, nuts and eggs.
