Extra large rectangular Chatai weave holga basket

£120.00
Hogla is a kind of seagrass and it’s often used for weaving in Bangladesh, where this basket was made.

The rectangular shape and sturdy handles make it great for days out and stylish picnics (you could even put a small dog in it, if that’s how your heart runs). It looks great as a storage container too.

We’re impressed by the durability of this basket and by the versatility. And we’re always looking for storage solutions, so that’s a win.

The other winners are the women in Bangladesh who make them, using traditional craft skills to create these very contemporary products. All of Maison Bengal’s products are produced in conjunction with three fair trade organisations, using locally grown materials. They provide steady work, helping to lift women and their families out of poverty.

All products are handmade, so measurements may vary slightly.

H: 45cm
W: 52cm
L: 65cm
