Hogla Chatai round foraging basket

£38.00
Hogla is a kind of seagrass and it’s often used for weaving in Bangladesh, where this basket was made.

This basket is light and easy to carry (the 50cm drop between the top of the handle and the top of the basket means you still have room for your hand when it’s full), so it’s great for shopping and for foraging. But it also looks pretty good as a storage solution.

We’re impressed by the durability of this basket and by the versatility. And we’re always looking for storage solutions, so that’s a win.

The other winners are the women in Bangladesh who make them, using traditional craft skills to create these very contemporary products. All of Maison Bengal’s products are produced in conjunction with three fair trade organisations, using locally grown materials. They provide steady work, helping to lift women and their families out of poverty.

Height 35cm; Diameter 30cm; Handle 50cm

All products are handmade and measurements may vary slightly.
