Avoiding animal products often means endless scrutiny of labels and menus, but not with this basket. Everything here is suitable for vegans, from the meltingly good dark chocolate to the wax in the gloriously scented candle. There’s nothing for you to check, we’ve done it all for you. Non-vegans won’t be able to resist either - but keeping them away from your treats will be your only worry. 

Every item we sell is made by a producer dedicated to changing the world for the better. Here’s how your gift is making a difference: 

Working for Maison Bengal means women in rural Bangladesh have jobs that not only value traditional craft skills but also can be done from home and fit around childcare.

Chantal Cody operates as The Chocolate Detective and her operating model aims to keep more of the business of chocolate, and therefore more of the money, in the country’s where the beans originate.

Bean-to-bar chocolate makers Lucocoa have traceable, slave-free methods of sourcing ingredients and a commitment to using natural sweeteners that don’t cause rapid blood sugar spikes.

Bristol bakery Step and Stone work with young adults who have learning disabilities, helping them into employment.

Hot sauce makers Novice Kitchen support the farming communities they buy from by donating 10 percent of their profit to the Haller Foundation who work on the sustainable transformation of arid land. 

Sustainable chocolate makers Chocolarder source their beans from slave-free producers, use no plastic and are creating year-round jobs in Cornwall. 

Fruits of the Forage collect fruit from old hedgerows and abandoned orchards. Their aim is to prevent food waste, but also to encourage biodiversity and preserve Britain's farming traditions. 

DifferentMade is our own brand where we collaborate with smaller producers. Our jam and our piccalilli are made in conjunction with Aunty Val’s Ability Centre. Everything within their organisation has been designed to give people with disabilities the opportunity to work. The candles are produced by Real Inspiration who provide craft-based workshops and training in a therapeutic environment. And the vegan honeycomb is made by Grace Chocolates in Scotland who help women who have interacted with the justice system.

DifferentMade Forest Floor Green Candle - Our candles are handmade with essential oils (rosewood, pine needle, bergamot, cedarwood atlas, cypress, lime, patchouli) and sustainable rapeseed wax from Europe. They are phthalate and paraben free. They are vegan-friendly and nothing has been tested on animals. Each candle has a burn time of around 40 hours. They are 9.5cm in height and 8cm in diameter. The packaging is made in the UK and printed using vegetable inks. 

Chocolate Detective Vegan Oat Milk Broken Choc - 100g. All packaging is compostable including the natureflex inner bag. 43% chocolate with a touch of seasalt.

Fruits of the Forage Winter Warmer Cordial - 550ml in a glass bottle. Non-alcoholic. Made from apples, damsons and spices.

Step and Stone Lavosh - Ingredients: Rosemary & Sea Salt: rapeseed oil, dried rosemary (2%), sea salt (2%), baking powder (raising agents: disodium diphosphate and sodium hydrogen carbonate; rice flour). Poppyseed: Wheat flour, poppy seed (9%), rapeseed oil, sea salt, baking powder (raising agents: disodium diphosphate and sodium hydrogen carbonate; rice flour). The lavosh is made in a kitchen that handles sesame seeds, nuts and eggs. Store in an airtight container after opening.
